ST CHRISTOPHER

ST CHRISTOPHER

ST CHRISTOPHER

Carry the weight. Face the crossing. Find your way through.

According to Christian tradition, St Christopher was a man of immense strength who devoted himself to carrying travellers across a dangerous river.

One night, a child asked to be taken to the other side. As Christopher entered the water, the current rose and the child became impossibly heavy. Every step demanded more from him, yet he refused to surrender. He planted his staff, held his ground and carried the child safely through.

Only after reaching the opposite bank did Christopher learn the child’s identity, and understand the true weight he had carried.

His name came to mean “Christ-bearer”, and his image became a symbol of guidance, protection and safe passage for those entering the unknown.

That meaning has travelled far beyond the river.

St Christopher has long held significance for soldiers, sailors, drivers, aircrew, mountaineers and explorers, people who leave the familiar behind, accept risk and continue towards a destination they may not yet be able to see.

For those in the military, the story also carries a deeper message: strength is measured by what you are prepared to carry for others. The burden may be physical, mental or unseen. The path may be hostile. You keep moving because others are depending on you.

For explorers, St Christopher represents the courage to cross the boundary between the known and the unknown. The journey will test you. Conditions will change. The way forward may disappear.

What matters is the ability to adapt, endure and find the next step.

This is where St Christopher meets the HANG 6 ethos.

Life will place weight upon your shoulders. It will lead you into deep water and demand strength you may have forgotten you possess. The answer is found within: reframe what stands before you, rise beneath its weight and continue towards the other side.

At the centre of the piece sits the unmistakable HANG 6 skull, cast in solid brass. Engraved into its reverse is the image of St Christopher carrying the child through the water, surrounded by the words:

ST CHRISTOPHER — GUIDE OUR WAY

Worn against the skin, the engraving becomes a private reminder that guidance begins within. When the route becomes uncertain, return to what you know: your values, your purpose and the strength built through everything you have already survived.

The brass skull brings mortality into focus. The journey is finite. Use the time. Take the road. Carry what matters.

Surrounding it is a dark, purposeful combination of natural stone:

  • Lava stone, formed through fire and violent change, represents endurance, transformation and strength forged under pressure.
  • Silver obsidian reveals a shifting metallic sheen beneath its darkness, symbolising perspective—the ability to look beyond the surface and find direction when the way ahead is unclear.
  • Black onyx brings depth and solidity to the piece, traditionally associated with resolve, self-command and remaining grounded through adversity.

Each natural stone carries its own markings and character, making every piece individual.

ST CHRISTOPHER is made for those who travel further, carry more and step forward when the route is uncertain.

For the soldier leaving home.

For the explorer crossing the line on the map.

For the person carrying a burden nobody else can see.

The crossing may test you. It does not define your limit.

Carry the weight. Trust your strength. Find your way through.

HANG 6 — Remember your strength.

It takes approx 2 weeks to create these skulls. If I happen to have a few good to go, it could be next-day delivery, but please allow 2 weeks.

  • Wrist sizing is critical!

These are made to order, sized for your wrist.

Without a wrist size I can't make your piece.

Measure at the narrowest part of the wrist, next to skin, no gaps, this will give the best fit.  If you allow a bit extra the chances are the skull will keep rotating downwards and you'll want a re-size, which incurs  an additional cost.  Measure twice, cut once. ;)

If a wrist size isn't provided with the order, I'll send a 17.5cm (average size) by default.
