Saint Michael is the warrior Archangel, the commander who leads the armies of Heaven against the forces of darkness.
 
This defining image has endured for centuries: wings spread, shield raised and sword drawn, Saint Michael stands victorious over evil.
 
His name comes from the Hebrew Mikha’el, meaning “Who is like God?” It is a challenge to arrogance and tyranny, a declaration that no individual, enemy or darkness stands above what is right.
 
Saint Michael has become a powerful symbol within the military, police and protective services. He is particularly significant among paratroopers and airborne forces, whose role demands the courage to step into danger from above and trust in their training, their team and the purpose behind the mission.
 
His meaning reaches far beyond the battlefield.
Saint Michael represents the defender: the person who stands between danger and those unable to face it alone. The one who moves towards the threat while others move away. The one prepared to carry responsibility when the consequences are real.
