When CHOICE changes everything

The CHOICE 'coin' marks a significant leap in belief and purpose for HANG 6.

So here we have it... CHOICE

I knew what I wanted to create. Many many hours went into refining this, the symmetry, the number of skulls to be used, the number of sides to make it feel right, the details to be incorporated so that moulds of it simply can’t be made.

I wanted to bridge a gap between coin and ‘something else’, whilst I make jewellery which has obviously influenced this, I wanted it to be something difficult to categorise.

You could look at it and just think, yeh it’s a coin with a hole in it… and then you hold it, move it around in your hand and it somehow sheds its coin status and becomes somewhere else… I can’t put my finger on what that something else is, and I love it for that…

It’s made with one purpose, to be used when making choices, that’s it.

But is there anything more powerful and impactful that you do in life?

This BAO hallmarked Silver piece represents a milestone in HANG 6.

A choice was made to pursue a dream relentlessly, to leave a very well paying stable job, to hand back the very nice company car, to feel the pressure and excitement that comes with needing to succeed, to allow purpose to come to the fore, pushing aside the traps of comfort.

Many people questioned this decision, but, many also respected me chasing the dream. And the dream is not to become a millionaire, zero interest in that, I want to do something that deeply means something to others in a truly positive way.

H6 with that shaped surround is now a Assay Office recognised Makers Mark for HANG 6, Very few companies go to the trouble of registering with an Assay Office. But HANG 6 isn't about the easy road, it's about the meaningful one. Maybe in many years from now this could turn up on Antiques Roadshow, where they could trace it back to, and reference HANG 6, I kinda love the idea of that.

This is a piece for those of you who have invested in what HANG 6 is truly all about.

You won’t understand fully until you hold one of these in your hands. I wanted to embed positivity, bravery, belief in self into these. If you believe items can hold energy, this will mean something to you. Something you can only truly get from something where the tools of the person who brought the idea to life have felt the metal, and as it's been worked, the embedded intent flows throughout it.

I can feel the purpose resonating from it. This is the first of its kind, Casting identity retained in areas, it is not perfect, It is real, and it is powerful in both presence and effect.

Not made for display, made to be carried, and to be used.

I will be making these from other materials, some incredibly special/significant! One thing that will bind these pieces together is everything that is associated with choice.

I carry the first one made with me always, Made from Bronze, patina from the ocean and general handling, it has become my go to pondering asset.

An object that occupies a new space that is only called a coin because I’m not sure the correct word for it exists.
