The Valknut is one of the most powerful and mysterious symbols to survive from the Norse world. Formed from three interlocking triangles, it has been discovered on ancient stones and objects connected with warriors, death and the passage into what lies beyond.
 
Often associated with Odin, the Norse god of war, wisdom, sacrifice and the fallen, the Valknut is commonly known as the “knot of the slain.”
 
Odin was believed to possess the power to bind and unbind the mind: to fill a warrior with fear or release him from it at the moment courage was needed most. That meaning sits at the heart of this piece. Fear may enter the mind, but it does not have to control the next move.

At its centre sits the unmistakable HANG 6 skull, cast in solid brass, with the Valknut deeply engraved into its reverse.
