TRL - V E G V I S I R

The VEGVISR.  This is the first Kim Hughes GC (Threat Reduction Ltd) and HANG 6 Ltd collaboration piece to be released.

This Sterling Silver piece features Kims' Icelandic Wayfinder.  The Icelandic text surrounding Wayfinder reads, ’As others withdraw, Always push on’.

The Vegvísir is featured alongside several other galdrastafir (magical staves) in the Huld Manuscript, written in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in 1860.

The text associated with the original drawing says: “Beri maður stafi þessa á sér villist maður ekki í hríðum né vondu veðri þó ókunnugur sá.”

“Carry this sign with you, and you won’t get lost in storms or bad weather, even in unfamiliar surroundings” (translation: Justin Foster)

Entering uncharted territory is part of the development of self, and having a piece that symbolizes being grounded and ‘finding a way’ is a powerful thing.

This piece also features the same lava stone beads and brass spacers in Kims' own range, so they instantly complement each other when stacked.
 
Each piece will also include a small piece of an IED command pull which Kim rendered safe in Afganistan (As referenced to in Kims book, Painting the Sand')  This iconic fragment will be secured to the rear of a HANG 6 Icon sticker.
